Jason Wu: Pre-Fall 2010

I hadn’t had much time to look a the new collections on Style.com until I finished the semester, but finally got around to it today. My opinions? Celine was an obvious stand-out to me (so strong and somehow feminine); Miu Miu fell short; Rodarte’s fascination with primitive tattoos distracted from his amazingly constructed ensembles.

I have yet to find any problems, however, with Jason Wu; the collection may not have enough variation, but I don’t really mind. In fact, I think my only comment is “wow.”

Edgy and refined with beautiful silhouettes. Please look at those tights- and the SHOES!

» Etsy: Lauren Castillo

These prints by Etsy vendor Lauren Castillo are undeniably quaint and charming, but there is something really fresh about them, too. All of the snow we have been experiencing lately makes me want to buy them and hang them in my room at school to cozy it up a bit.

I just tried on these boots and, once I fell in love with them, my mom told me she was wrapping them to put them under the tree. Normally I would go for a more streamlined boot, but I decided to be a little more daring than usual. I initially wanted ankle boots, but the ones I had my eye on were unfortunately elfish once I saw them on my own feet. The question, then, is what do I wear them with?I was thinking of delving into the dangerous world of leggings, but only because I think black leggings would make the brown rider boots look especially strong. My unchanging position that leggings are not pants mandates that I find something long enough to hide my rear.
The blouse on the left, from Anthropologie, may be just feminine enough, but could also be too structured without something softer, especially if I paired it with a blazer. And the sweater, from J. Crew, is subtle and loose, but would it look lazy with the aforementioned leggings? A little help, please? I need to decide what to spend possible Christmas funds on!

Goodbye Blogspot, Hello Tumblr

The end of something is always a the beginning of something else; and in the relatively unimportant realm of my blogosphere, Blogspot has met, at the very least, its temporary end. Its predecessor, worthiness and reliability unknown, its currently Tumblr.

Let’s give this a go. I hope that here you can expect fewer rants and more observations; less about me and more about the world; and a more reliable and interesting stream of updates.

Optimistically,
Katie
